Files Named .ppf?, ...? Options

how do i use the mods with the ending . ppf? i know how t use the usual .map but .ppf is new for me... how to use them?? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

.ppf is a different type of file. It is usually used if you want to post your mods online because they tend to be thousands of times smaller than the actual maps. .ppf files won't work in place of map files, because they do not contain data for the entire map. They only contain the changes made on that map.

If you downloaded some mods ending in .ppf, you need ppf master of ppfomatic. You can download ppf master in "a starting point for newbs" section at the top of halo modding general. Ppf master also allows you to create your own ppf files if you ever want to post mods online.

Be sure to back up your map before you use ppf master to patch it, because sometimes it is difficult or imposible to undo patches.

Oh, and if yuo use ppf o matic, be sure to find your ppf and control click, then find "open with" and choose ppf o matic, because if you open ppf o matic and try to select your original map and ppf file, it will crash, so, yeah. What I said.
