beast of a mod i like the mod i was thinking if coldsnap could be converted 2 mac but bob u dont have 2 if i new how 2 convert maps i would convert coldsnap

yay! this map is just as good. someone should set up a server because what is the point of a new map if you cant use it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
edit: how the hell do i get the cmp file to work? i followed the intructins and all that happened was that it loaded icefields! help!

Surprisingly enough, Karahna, Coldsnap is very low poly. It uses a small amount of very large single polygons for the terrain. If you had done a little thinking about it, you'd realize that. I've played Coldsnap a couple of times on my friend's PC. I'd reccomend that it be converted. Also, Bob, any plans to tell us your process for converting CE maps to Mac? I think I speak for all of us when I say that the knowledge would be a great asset.

I believe he mentioned that the process is not exactly "easy", nor very friendly. Complex and painful processes are also extremely difficult to set down on paper in a way that people could follow a tutorial and not swamp the author with a bajillion questions about.

But I would be curious as to the number of steps and the apps involved in performing the task and whether or not it involves the sacrifice of a small electronic device to the great digital gawds...

Well, if you open a Windows regular Halo map, and a Macintosh one, you'll find they have many minor differences about the shaders, etc... Knowing this, if you had the time to change the shaders, etc... to the Macintosh format, it might lead to something..
